Shop favourite Al Simmons' new album is already a hit with the Prairie Sky crowd!

Al’s humour touches a responsive chord in people of every age.

His father, a charismatic salesman and would be performer, spent many hours telling tall tales and re-enacting old vaudeville routines in their living-room. Al's Mom taught the budding young vaudevillian the genteel art of punning, silly songs and magic tricks.

During his 55 year career Al has appeared in theatres, concert halls and festivals across North America and as far away as Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Japan. He has performed with every major symphony orchestra in Canada.

The Whistling Egg Man is Al’s latest recording of novelty songs.  He had previously recorded three CD’s: Something’s Fishy at Camp Wiganishie, The Truck I Bought From Moe, and his Juno Award winning Celery Stalks at Midnight which has been described as a “Zany Masterpiece” by the Los Angeles Times.

His book “Counting Feathers” was shortlisted for McNally-Robinson’s “Best Children’s Book of 1998.” His “I Collect Rocks” DVD contains 6 of his music videos which, to once again quote the Los Angeles Times: "Combines education with off-the-wall humour.”

Al has appeared on TV numerous times including  The Tommy Hunter Show, Fred Penner’s Place and Sesame Street. He and his wife Barb co-starred on 36 episodes of their own one-hour CTV show “All For Fun,” and he hosted two seasons of CBC Vancouver’s “Fabulous Festival.”   He’s been featured on Disney, Discovery, Hong Kong Broadcasting Corporation, Nickelodeon, TOYO TV (Japan) and YTV.  Al played 7 different characters in a movie short called "The Christmas Orange,” CBCs 12-minute dramatization of a book by Canadian author Don Gillmor.
